Happy Equinox!

September 22, 2016

Whether you live north of the equator, east of the Greenwich Meridian line, in the southern hemisphere, or in the western part of the globe, you are currently celebrating an equinox. Here in the Unites States, we are gearing up for fall, saying “so long to sweat and hello to sweaters,” while our Aussie friends are out picking up their new summer bathing suits and hitting the beaches. Friends in the UK and northern Europe will soon be preparing for the famous Christmas Markets.

Because of the earth’s tilt and rotation around the sun, we get to experience these important changing of the seasons. Without it, the earth couldn’t exist. It’s the earth’s “cleansing” if you will, and an offering of new things to come. “Equinox” comes from the Latin words “aequus” which means “equal,” and “nox” which means “night.” It is when the center of the sun spends the same amount of time above and below the horizon with the tilt of the Earth exactly the same so it is not slanted away or towards the sun, thus making the hours of darkness and light equal.

So, wherever on our lovely planet you may be, we wish you a happy solstice and remember…give your guests an offer of things to come…Frequent Flyer Rewards. Let them keep visiting you each season!

THE CHANGING OF THE SEASONS IS VITAL FOR THE HEALTH OF OUR PLANET.

SO IS KEEPING YOUR GUESTS LOYAL. SO CELEBRATE EQUINOX WITH FFP.
